Powering Up Productivity: Mobile Workshops for Scottish Power Renewables

Working across multiple renewable energy sites means operational teams need workshops and tool stores that can move with them. Scottish Power Renewables required a solution that was robust enough for demanding site conditions, safe for hazardous materials storage, and practical enough to be relocated as project needs changed.
Off-the-shelf options simply would not cut it. They needed containers that were fitted out to a professional standard and finished to match their corporate identity.

RFB Containers supplied and modified three containers – one 10ft and two 8ft units – transforming them into fully functional mobile workshops and tool stores. Each container was painted white to align with Scottish Power’s corporate branding, then ply lined and insulated to create a comfortable working environment whatever the conditions outside.
Full electrics were installed throughout, including lighting and power sockets, alongside backup wireless lighting so the containers remained usable even without an external power supply.
The internal fit-out was built around the practical needs of operational engineering teams, and included shelving, tool chests, workbenches, a COSHH store for hazardous materials compliance, tool hook boards and anti-fatigue rubber flooring to support teams working on their feet throughout the day.

Scottish Power Renewables now has three site-ready, fully equipped mobile workspaces that can be deployed and redeployed across their project portfolio. The containers give their operational teams everything they need to work safely and efficiently on site, with no compromise on compliance, comfort or corporate standards.
