20ft Container Supplied to FARE Scotland

We provided a 20ft container to FARE Scotland for their community garden project in Easterhouse, Glasgow.

What problem was the client facing?

The Challenge

FARE is a grassroots community organisation based in Easterhouse, Glasgow, working in the community, for the community.

Their allotment is a haven for health, wellbeing and outdoor learning. It brings together local families, schools and volunteers to grow food, connect with nature and support one another.

FARE suffered a major setback when their teaching cabin was destroyed in an act of arson but the community rallied and through a successful fundraising effort, they secured the funds to replace the space.

How did RFB Containers deliver?

The Solution

RFB provided a 20ft container with in-kind support on costs to serve as a community wellness hub, offering an important place for relaxation and connection. It will also be used for outdoor learning and nature crafts for the nursery and school children who regularly visit our allotment.

The container was fitted with a high-security personnel door that allows volunteers to access the unit easily while keeping equipment protected. Two windows with secure shutters were added to bring natural light into the space and ensure safety during use, with the shutters providing robust protection outside operational hours.

The interior was fully ply-lined and insulated, creating a clean, dry, and stable environment ideal for storing tools, teaching materials, and gardening equipment without risk of damp or damage.

The FARE team used a local artist painted the outside of the container so it blends into the natural landscape and created a cosy space indoors for its volunteers and visitors.
