Altrad Babcock – 2x Container Conversions
When Altrad Babcock needed secure, site-ready container conversions that could be moved and redeployed as project demands changed, RFB delivered a practical bespoke solution. By converting two 20ft one-trip containers into a fully equipped mobile workshop and organised storage unit, we created durable, flexible spaces designed to support day-to-day operations across multiple sites.
What problem was the client facing?
The Challenge
Altrad Babcock required two bespoke container conversions for use across different project sites: a mobile workshop and a mobile store. The units needed to be practical, secure and easy to redeploy whenever site demands changed, while also providing a durable working environment for industrial use.

How did RFB deliver?
The Solution
We delivered two 20ft new one-trip 3-bar shipping containers in blue, each converted to suit its intended purpose. Both units were fitted with 9mm ply board lining with Rockwool insulation, a 10-point locking steel security door, full internal electrics including consumer unit, IP67 32amp plug, LED lighting, double sockets and a 2kw wall-mounted heater, plus an external PIR floodlight, dome roof light and anti-condensation coating to the internal roof.
For the workshop container, we installed a complete internal fit-out to support day-to-day operational use, including four workbenches with lower shelving, two-tier metal angled piperacking, a three-drawer workbench with tool panel and wall cabinets, and solid rubber anti-fatigue matting for a safer, more comfortable workspace.
For the storage container, the unit was configured to maximise organisation and accessibility, with four-level shelving rated to 400kg UDL, creating a secure and efficient storage space for equipment and materials.

How have RFB helped?
The Result
We supplied Altrad Babcock with two purpose-built converted containers that could be deployed across multiple sites as required. The finished units gave the client a flexible workshop and storage solution that combined security, mobility and functionality, helping support project work wherever it was needed.
